Did you know that there are local jails and prisons in Oregon that have contracts to detain undocumented people?!?
Come learn about what’s happening in our communities and what we can do to ensure Oregon is a place where everyone’s humanity is valued. Join us for food* and come learn with others about what local groups are doing to fight back and be in solidarity with migrant people.
Some of our Panelist include:
- We will have folks from APANO who helped establish a Post Detention Respite Network for the over 100 detained asylees who have continued to be released from Sheridan Federal Prison in Yamhill County.
- We will also have organizers from the Gorge ICE Resistance, working to de-ICE NORCOR, a four-county, jail in The Dalles, Oregon.
This event is in solidarity with the folks detained in NORCOR and Sheridan and with the week of Action, Sheridan to Norcor March, happening Sept 30th - Oct 6th. We will be accepting food and water donations for those embarking 7 day journey. Any helps!
(Bringing food is not mandatory, but encouraged.)

Why we March
We demand:
* The release of all migrants from incarceration
* An end to the ICE contract at FCI Sheridan
* An end to the ICE contract at NORCOR
We call on our neighbors to:
* Vote no on Measure 105 in order to protect Oregon's "sanctuary" law that prevents local resources (like law enforcement) from being used to detain immigrants and refugees living in Oregon.
Our vision is:
* A welcoming community that repeals laws that make migration a crime and dismantles systems of detention and deportation.
Our partners include:
Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice, ICE Out of Sheridan, Unidos Bridging Community, Hood River Latino Network, Gorge ICE Resistance, PCUN, Causa and others.
Join us on a 7-day march to demand an end to the 2 ICE contracts in Oregon and to call for dismantling all systems of detention and deportation.
