Bio
Vanessa Grant Coats is a new member to the Unite Oregon team. She is the YIELD Senior Organizer serving Cesar Chavez, Harrison-Park, and Ockley-Green Middle Schools. Vanessa has spent the past 4 years working with youth in various capacities including leadership development, mentoring Black identifying youth in the outdoors, and in residential care facilities.
Vanessa earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Western Oregon University. She identifies as an Afro-Latinx Adoptee and finds her passion and purpose in advocating for racial, social, and environmental justice.
