Monse moved to Oregon at age 16 from Jalisco, Mexico where most of her extended family lives. She has a degree in Journalism & Communication from the University of Oregon. In 2015 Monse moved back to Southern Oregon where she works as an educator/education advocate
For the past three years, Monse has been involved with Unite Oregon in different capacities: volunteer, social media intern, leadership council member for the Rogue Valley chapter, and statewide board member.
Monse has been involved/collaborated in civic engagement, leadership development, immigrant and refugee rights advocacy, and racial and social justice efforts across the state.
