Jessica graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2013 and began working with BIPOC at-risk youth for Los Angeles County. After receiving her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Redlands, Jessica shifted her focus to advocating for foster youth while creating a safe environment for foster youth at two residential facilities in Los Angeles and San Bernardino County.
In 2018, Jessica moved to Portland to continue her work with at-risk youth through being an AmeriCorps fellow in Gresham. After her term with AmeriCorps, Jessica continued her work with at-risk youth for Centennial School District through leading a year-round leadership development program and giving youth the tools to organize and amplify student voices.
