Hate Crimes Listening Session with Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum

Hate Crimes Listening Session with Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum

Oregon ranks #1 in hate crimes & incidents throughout the United States. Even with these stats, we know that many members of our communities do not report incidents of hate for various reasons such as lack of safety or response from government agencies.

Unite Oregon, in partnership with the Hate Crimes Task Force, the ACLU of Oregon and the Attorney General's Office, is hosting community conversation in Portland on January 7th at 6:00 PM.

Our goal is to create space for community members to share the realities of what life is like for communities that are targets of hate crimes and incidents in our current political climate. We recognize that it’s a courageous act for folks to share their very intimate experiences of trauma. We would like to uplift that we are not alone in these struggles and begin to weave our experiences together. Racists and bigots cannot get the final say on what happens when they target us. We are pushing statewide policy for accountability and want folks to shape what this looks like.
