Long time allies, Center for Intercultural Organizing and Oregon Action, have merged to create Unite Oregon.
Long time allies and partners Center for Intercultural Organizing (CIO) and Oregon Action have merged to create a new, dynamic statewide organization: Unite Oregon. Together we will build a strong social justice movement that will be poised to make significant change in Oregon. We are excited about this strategic merger that has already made a difference in our ability to unite across urban and rural divides to powerfully advocate for immigrants, refugees, people of color, and low-income communities.
This is a unique and powerful merger that is designed to allow both organizations to continue being the authentic community forces we have always been while leveraging our collective voices and people power to make change at the state level. Center for Intercultural Organizing will keep its Portland and Washington County staff and offices, set our own budget and strategic priorities, and elect our own representatives to the new statewide Board of Directors. We are very lucky to be inheriting a dynamic Oregon Action chapter in Medford with outstanding local leaders and staff.
We hope you will join us!
