With calls for both the exclusion and registration of Muslims in America, Islamophobia has become an increasingly common issue in the national discourse. However, this anti-Muslim sentiment, rooted in deeply-seated nativism and white supremacy, began well before the attacks on September 11, 2001. In this popular education workshop, Center for Intercultural Organizing's Executive Director, Kayse Jama, will explore the issue of Islamophobia past and present and its connection to white American identity.
